Pride is self-love. Pride is self-exhaltation. Pride is the opposite of humility. Pride is the complete anti-God state of mind.
2 Tim. 3:2-5 (ESV)
For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, [3] heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, [4] treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Do you really think so? With all those “zzzzzz’s” I wouldn’t want to put you to sleep. But if you think it rockzzzzzzz, then I should probably put up some more posts about The Rock.
Here are questions I shall propose and answer: What Gospel is Jesus speaking of in Mark 1:14,15? What is the Kingdom?
What do you think?

Maimia:
Jesus said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24 (NASB)
To “deny himself” means to give up one’s self-rule. This “self-rule” is one and the same as “pride” in Isaac Watt’s “Wondrous Cross”, and to deny it is to give Jesus the right to reign over your life – over ALL of your life. Jesus’ death on the Cross will set you free and He will give a new eternal Life – your “richest gain”. You will become a Princess of God, a precious and royal child in God’s household, and you will receive His amazing, never-ending, love. I pray you will choose the Life He wants for you. God paid a very high price for YOU.
“When I survey the Wondrous Cross on which the Prince of glory died, my richest gain I count but loss and pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast; save in the death of Christ, my God. All the vain things that harm me most, I sacrifice them to His Blood.
See, from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down. Did e’re such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?
Were the whole realm of nature mine; that were a tribute far too small. Love so amazing, so Divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.”
Do you understand, Maimai?
Pray for understanding. Pray “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. Pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” Ephesians 1:17-19

Ralph:
Yes, that is true.
Pride is self-addiction, the desire to be your own god – not wanting Jesus to rule over you. Pride is THE sin.
Adam commited THE sin in his heart. The eating of the apple was the outward manisfestation of what was already in his heart.
